About Us

VA Mesothelioma Benefits Guide is an independent educational website. We publish plain-language guides that explain how the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits system works for veterans who have been diagnosed with mesothelioma or another asbestos-related disease, and for the family members helping them navigate a claim.

Our Mission

A mesothelioma diagnosis is overwhelming on its own. Trying to understand VA disability compensation, service connection, claim forms, and health care enrollment at the same time can feel impossible — especially when so much of the information online is written by marketing departments rather than educators. Our mission is simple: explain how the VA benefits system actually works, in calm, clear language, so that veterans and their families can make informed decisions and find the right free, accredited help.

We write for real people at a difficult moment. That means an 8th–9th grade reading level, every acronym defined the first time it appears, no fear-based language, no urgency tactics, and no sales pitch of any kind — because there is nothing here to sell.

What This Site Is

  • An independent editorial project run by a small team of researchers and writers.
  • A library of long-form, plain-language guides about VA disability compensation, presumptive service connection, the claim filing process, Compensation & Pension (C&P) exams, VA health care for mesothelioma, and decision reviews and appeals.
  • Free to read. The site is supported by third-party display advertising (such as Google AdSense), which never influences what we write.

What This Site Is Not

We believe being upfront about our limits is the most important thing we can do, so we will be very clear:

  • We are not a law firm. No attorneys work for this site, and nothing here is legal advice.
  • We are not affiliated with the VA. This site is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or any government agency.
  • We are not VA-accredited. We cannot prepare, present, or prosecute VA claims, and we cannot evaluate your individual claim.
  • We do not sell anything. No case evaluations, no lead-generation forms, no law-firm referrals, no paid consultations. We never accept referral fees from attorneys or claims companies.
  • We do not give medical advice. Treatment decisions belong with you and your medical team.

If you need help with an actual claim, the right next step is a free, VA-accredited Veterans Service Organization (VSO) such as DAV, VFW, or The American Legion, or your county veterans service officer. That help costs nothing, and we recommend it in every guide we publish.

How Our Content Is Produced

Every guide on this site is researched and written by our editorial team using official and primary sources only. Our sourcing standards are strict:

  • VA.gov — eligibility rules, forms, compensation rate tables, and process descriptions.
  • Title 38 of the Code of Federal Regulations (38 CFR) — where the underlying rules live.
  • CDC / Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) — asbestos exposure and health background.
  • National Cancer Institute (NCI) — mesothelioma medical background.
  • Established Veterans Service Organizations — DAV, VFW, and The American Legion, for information about free accredited representation.

We never cite or link law-firm marketing sites, lead-generation “mesothelioma centers,” or affiliate blogs. Each guide displays a “Reviewed and updated” date, and we periodically re-verify rates, forms, and rules because VA policy changes over time. You can read more in our Editorial Policy.

A Note on Accuracy

We work hard to keep our guides current, but VA rules, compensation rates, and procedures change, and only VA.gov reflects the current official position. Always confirm details at VA.gov or with a VA-accredited representative before making a decision about a claim. Our full Disclaimer explains this in detail.

Contact Us

We welcome corrections, feedback, and questions about our content. You can reach the editorial team at support@pubgapk.pro, or see our Contact page for more information. Please note that we cannot answer individual benefits, legal, or medical questions — for those, VA.gov and free VA-accredited VSOs are the right resources.
